Signage Photos
Numerous signs beckoned visitors to the
Lakehurst complex.  The highway sign above
pointed travelers heading east on Rt. 120
toward Lakehurst Rd., the ring road surrounding
the enclosed mall.

The sign at above left, emblazoned with
Lakehurst's seagull insignia, stood as a
welcoming presence at a Rt. 43 entrance.

At left is the massive structure which held
ground through the decades at the bottom of
the Rt. 120 ramp.   Though still a formidable
presence, the dilapidated sign attracted more
pigeons than it did shoppers in later years.
When Lakehurst Mall opened in 1971, each of its sections were color-coded in themes of blue, yellow,
red, or green.  The "blue" mall entrance at the south side of the mall (above left) displayed bold color,
reflective supports, and a decorated front.   Later years would see the entrances refigured to a softer,
subdued styling (above right).

Parking areas corresponded in color to their accompanying entrances.  Letter signs placed strategically
throughout the lots helped direct shoppers back to their vehicles.
